Why we've rebranded, and what Atmos really means

If you’re visiting one of our clubs, you’ll notice the signs, the shirts, and the socials all look a little different. As of today, Padel Project UK is now Atmos Padel.

Same team. Same clubs. Same courts. Same community. The name and the look are the only things that have changed.

Here's why we've done it, and what we mean by Atmos.

The Padel Project years

We chose the name Padel Project UK when we opened our first club. It was honest, that's exactly what it was. A project. A small operation trying to prove that padel could work in Britain, one club at a time.

Five clubs and nineteen courts later, "project" doesn't quite fit any more.

Padel isn't an emerging sport in the UK. More than a million people play. And we aren't an emerging business, we're an established operator with a growing team, a growing customer base, and a pipeline of new clubs on the way.

Our name needed to catch up to the great atmosphere delivered at our clubs week in week out.

Why Atmos

We spent a long time on this. Naming a business is hard, naming a business that already has thousands of players even harder. We tested dozens of options with real customers before we landed on Atmos.

It works for us on two levels.

First, atmosphere is what makes padel, padel. More than the scoring, the equipment, or the technique, what people fall in love with is the feeling around the court. The rally that goes on longer than it should. The four-way conversation between points. The laughter over a coffee afterwards. Padel is the sport that pulls people together and that's the atmosphere we design every club around.

Second, our clubs are outdoors. In an open-air setting. Not in warehouses or under corrugated roofs. That's a deliberate choice, and it's a big part of what makes an Atmos club feel different when you arrive. Padel doesn't need to be indoor to be world-class. Atmos means the atmosphere, the sky, the setting, as much as it means the social energy on court.

Our strapline captures it: Atmosphere makes the game.

What Atmos Padel stands for

The rebrand is a chance to be clearer about what we care about. Five things run through everything we do:

Community. From the moment you walk in, you should feel like you belong, whether it's your first session or your five hundredth.

Inclusive. Padel is for everyone. Our courts fill up with players from six to eighty-plus, from complete beginners to serious competitors, at a 60/40 male-to-female split that's well ahead of the sport globally. That's not by accident. It's a direct result of programming that includes women’s social mornings, over-50s socials, junior sessions, and a coaching setup that meets people where they are.

Accessible. Great courts shouldn't come with an intimidating price tag. We keep the game accessible because a sport that only works for a few isn't really working.

Quality. Our courts are built to professional standard — FIP-spec structures, tempered glass, and the same lighting used on the professional World Padel Tour. When you play at Atmos, you play on the best.

Fun. This one's not decoration. Enjoyment is the point. It's what we programme for, and it's what we measure ourselves on. If people aren't having fun, nothing else we do matters.

What isn't changing

The important stuff.

Your booking on Playtomic — search Atmos Padel instead of Padel Project UK, and everything else works exactly as it did.

Your booking history. Your match ratings. All of it carries over automatically. You don't need to do a thing.

The team on site. Your club manager, your coaches, the familiar faces at reception are all the same people. The clubs at Darlington, South Shields, Lytham, Worthing and Potters Bar are all still open, still under the same management, still running the same sessions.

What's next

A lot!

Chesterfield opens as our sixth club on Saturday 22 August. First padel club in the town. Free taster sessions, a launch party, and a full programme running from opening weekend.

Beyond that, we have a strong pipeline of new sites in development across the country. If you're near a town or city you'd love to see us in, we want to hear from you and if you own or manage land that might work for a club, even better.
